Murray Irrigation has contributed a total of $15,000 in funding towards seven initiatives through its 2024 Community Sponsorship Program.
This year's successful recipients were selected from 20 applicants, each meeting the criteria of supporting healthy, viable, and vibrant local communities.
Other projects in the region that received funding include:
- Finley High Parent’s and Citizens Association has been granted $5000 to help support a major upgrade of the school's agricultural plot, and
- Finley Public School has received $3000 to establish a sensory garden.
Now in its seventh year, Murray Irrigation's annual grants program funds projects that promote community participation, safety, and wellbeing.
As part of this year's sponsorship activities, an additional $15,000 has been allocated to the long-running annual Learn to Swim program.
Murray Irrigation CEO Ron McCalman thanked all organisations that applied for funding, praising the passion and quality of this year's submissions.
"The volume and scope of this year's applications showcases the energy, innovation and drive of local organisations to make their communities a better place," Mr McCalman said.
"Each and every project demonstrated a commitment to making a difference in the community, and I would encourage those who may not have been successful in this year's funding round to consider reapplying in 2025."
Murray Irrigation's Community Sponsorship Program is made possible through the support of the company's customers.
Applications for the 2025 sponsorship program will open in the first half of next year.
