Mitchell Shire Council is seeking input on the Anzac Avenue Masterplan with another round of community consultation now open.
The project plans to improve the streetscape along Anzac Ave in Seymour and reinstate an ‘Avenue of Honour’.
The ‘Avenue of Honour’ was originally planted in 1917 honouring fallen soldiers, however the trees were removed in the early 1980s when the road was constructed to its current form.
While plans have not yet been finalised, options included increasing the number of traffic lanes and increasing parking spaces near shopping precincts.
Following stakeholder consultation in September and October 2022, the project has been extended from Delatite Rd to Kobyboyn Rd.
Other improvements the respondents of the first round of engagement requested included improved access to the Anzac Avenue War Memorial, improved safety including safer pedestrian crossings and connections, improved public spaces and seating and increased biodiversity and large tree canopy cover.
Options and a design report have been created for community consideration.

Consultation is open until 5pm on Wednesday, May 24.
