The fate of Moire Shire chief executive officer Clare Keenan was discussed at a closed session of council on Wednesday, August 23.
The discussion was held at the tail end of the monthly council meeting and was closed to members of the public and media.
Chair of administrators John Tanner excused himself from the closed session due to conflict of interest.
Mr Tanner, along with Frances O’Brien, headed the Commission of Inquiry into Moira Shire Council which led to the sacking of the previous council earlier this year.
Acting chief executive officer Joshua Lewis and several other members of the council executive also excused themselves.
Administrators Suzanna Sheed and Dr Graeme Emonson both attended the closed meeting.
Queried after the meeting about what occurred Ms Sheed said she couldn’t comment on the issue.
For his part Mr Tanner also said that such matters are confidential.
“These are matters relating to the employment matters of the CEO …and for that reason they have to be confidential,” Mr Tanner said.
Ms Keenan has been on leave since the report of previous council’s failings were made public in March of 2023.
