Emerald Bank Markets will be taking a three-week hiatus after a summer of what market co-ordinator Stacey Moutafis called stunning success.
The markets were originally planned to run every weekend until Christmas before moving back to once every two weeks, but Miss Moutafis said attendance had been so strong they had continued weekly throughout January.
“The idea was we’d always go fortnightly after Christmas but it’s been going so strongly that we decided we’d keep going,” she said.
“It’s really nice to see so many people out and spending money, and the stallholders were saying it went really well.”
The market will take three weeks off, but when it returns it will be alongside the beloved Moira Miniature Railway.
It’s been more than a year since the railway was in action but it will be back at $3 a ride.
It’s news that will excite parents and children alike, while the market will continue at the same size, just with a slightly different layout.
The market will resume on Sunday, March 6, with entry costing a gold coin.
