Cobram police were kept busy over the Easter period with a fight at a Cobram beach and multiple breath tests carried out.
Senior Sergeant Nathan Ractliffe of Cobram police said there was a fight involving multiple people at Big Toms beach about 8pm on Thursday, April 6.
Sen Sgt Ractliffe said police were rapidly on the scene and managed the incident.
A 40-year-old man from Nar Nar Goon, near Pakenham, was charged with affray and serious assault and was bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on August 28.
Cobram police were busy on the roads as well, with more than 500 drivers tested for drugs and alcohol.
A 25-year-old Cobram woman was charged with driving under the influence of methamphetamines after she allegedly tested positive at a roadside drug test in Cobram on Thursday, April 6.
The woman will be summonsed to appear at the Cobram Magistrates’ Court.
A Cobram man in his mid-30s was allegedly almost three times the legal alcohol limit when he was breathtested by police on Good Friday in Cobram.
Police allege the man recorded a blood alcohol concentration reading of 0.141.
His licence was immediately suspended and he was released pending summons to appear in Cobram Magistrates’ Court on a drink driving charge.
