Dutch Thunder Wildlife and Pine Manor Water Pets will be holding a display and fundraiser at Pine Manor Water Pets in Cobram on Saturday, April 15.
The event will run from 10am to noon and visitors will not only be able to see the wonderful animals at Pine Manor Water Pets, but also interact with some of the animals that Dutch Thunder Wildlife have rescued and learn about the organisation’s wildlife education program.
Dutch Thunder Wildlife owner-operator Kylee Donkers will also have wildlife rescue kits for sale for $10 each, with money raised going to the vital rescue work the organisation undertakes.
Residents can also take part in a colouring competition with prizes to be won.
Participants can pick up a copy of the colourings at the Easter Sunday Easter River Beaches Festival, or at Pine Manor Water Pets on April 15.
Pine Manor Water Pets owner Simone Hanlon supplies tropical fish, plants, freshwater stingrays and aquatic supplies such as medicine, food and tanks to water animal lovers throughout the region.
Ms Hanlon said unlike the bigger pet stores, she could also undertake special orders.
“If you want to get 20 goldfish, I can order 20 goldfish,” Ms Hanlon
Pine Manor Water Pets and Dutch Thunder Wildlife have worked together for the past two-and-a-half years, with Ms Hanlon helping provide feed for the animals under Ms Donkers’ care.
Ms Hanlon said the April 15 display was intended to increase public awareness of Dutch Thunder Wildlife.
“I’m a sole trader. I’m only small but if I can help out, I do. Every little bit helps,” she said.
