Event organiser Brett Butler said the popularity of the event is growing and he is excited to bring two rodeos this summer to the Bundalong arena.
“After holding it on Australia Day last year we realised we could run both the events during the Christmas week and on the Australia Day weekend,” Mr Butler said.
“Moira Shire Council have gone above and beyond to work with us to make this happen,” Brett Butler said.
“I would like to thank Director Sustainable Development Bryan Sword and Planning Co-ordinator Travis Basham for their incredible assistance.
“This event is too important to us and the community not to make it work.”
Mr Butler took over the rodeo event a couple of years ago after it was held at the showgrounds for many years, supported by Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism and Business.
“It would have been a shame to see it cancelled,” he said.
“We look forward to seeing everyone here on December 28 and on Australia Day.”
Rodeo action at the Bundalong arena will include bronc riding, bull riding, local steer riding, team roping, breakaway barrel racing and more. Anthony Lorenzo will also be playing your favourite tunes at the after-party held in the arena.
Catch all the action for Australia’s best cowboys and cowgirls having a shot at competing on the American rodeo stage, with a massive $1 million prize on the line.
Gates open for Sunday’s (December 28) rodeo at 9am for the stock performances with the main event starting at 2pm and the after party to follow from 8pm-10.30pm.
Tickets for both events along with the tavern’s New Year’s Eve party are now on sale at: https://linktr.ee/bundalongtavern
