Neighbours called 000 at 5.30pm on Tuesday and Fire and Rescue NSW arrived on scene where it was believed one occupant was still inside the Armour Street property.
Fire and Rescue teams entered the burning property to find nobody trapped.
One occupant was treated for smoke inhalation at Corowa Hospital, there were no other injuries.
Fire Inspector Frank Finlay said he believed the property was salvageable, despite fire engulfing the kitchen, then the roof.
“The crews were quick to knock it down, and remained on scene until 8pm to ensure the fire didn’t linger,” Insp Finlay said.
He stressed the importance of routine safety alarm checks in potentially, saving lives.
“Seconds could prove the difference between life and death,” he said.
“Working smoke alarms saves lives.”
Corowa Police investigated the scene and confirmed that the fire was not suspicious.
