Corner Shop wins best new business award

“We didn’t expect it at all,” Mr Carmichael said.

“It was just nice to be at the awards. I guess COVID (put a stop) to things like that.

“You could almost forget we used to do things like that once upon a time.

“But to win an award was a real honour after coming back to the community.

“And great that people acknowledge and appreciate the thing you’ve done.”

Mr Carmichael sad thank you to whoever nominated the business.

“We’re not sure who that was, we just got told we were finalists. Which itself was a very nice surprise.

“Thank you to our customers, our staff and our families who really helped us set the whole place up.”
