The strategy will guide the council’s decisions relating to the Moira Shire’s economic growth, resilience, and booming tourist and primary producer industries.
Business owners, industry stakeholders and residents are called upon to participate.
Moira Shire Council chair administrator Graeme Emonson said it was important the strategy reflected the needs of both businesses and residents, creating a framework for strategic investments, innovation, and growth across all sectors.
“Our key industry sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, construction, and transport contribute significantly to the region’s annual economic output of $4.7b,” he said.
“We aim to build on this success by encouraging new investments, supporting job creation and retention, and strengthening our regional identity as a hub for innovation and productivity.
“We invite the business community and residents to get involved, provide input and help us identify the key strengths and opportunities for the region’s economic future.”
Over the next month, Moira Shire Council will conduct several workshops across the shire in which residents can engage with the strategy and raise their ideas and concerns.
