The new café, located opposite Cobram Hotel on 2-4 Station St, opened on Friday, September 30 and offers breakfast and lunch options as well as coffee and snacks.
It can seat up to 140 patrons with both indoor and outdoor seating options available.
It’s open seven days a week between 6am and 4pm.
Patrons can choose from a menu of modern urban dishes packed with loads of local produce and cooked on-site by international chef Ginni Gurwinder.
Management has promised a strong focus on the local Farm Gate Trail and an emphasis on supporting local producers.
Some of the menu items will be seasonal, with Grainstore Cobram planning to serve different flavoured ice-cream, gelato, sorbet and fruit smoothies over the course of the year.
The idea of Grainstore Cobram was born out of a desire to give the rural town a more urban feel and to make use of the adjacent piazza area.
Grainstore Cobram cafe manager Chanalee Nicosia has brought her experience and expertise in working at the Cobram Hotel to the new venue.
Mrs Nicosia is incredibly excited about Grainstore Cobram and the potential that the new venue has.
“To be involved with Grainstore Cobram is extremely exciting, we are unique and packed with inviting spaces. Utilising local produce is by far a highlight for me. I couldn't be more excited to be a part of the Grainstore Cobram team,” Mrs Nicosia said.
