CLHA member Val Linquist said the group holds several annual fundraisers.
“Our next one will be one of our film screenings, which are always popular,” Ms Linquist said.
“It is $20 to attend, and all proceeds go to the hospital, every penny.”
Ms Linquist said the hospital gives the auxiliary a wish list of items that government funding, or grants, don’t cover.
“So we choose from the wish list and, it’s always patient focused,” she said.
“To give an example, we bought a bed last time.
“It’s a bed that will go into the palliative care ward. It’s very comfortable and is for the husband, wife or any family member of a patient to use.
“So they can stay there and support their relative until they pass.”
Ms Linquist said they don’t have a fundraising target and aim to bring in as much as they can, with any extra funds kept for future donations.
“So far we’ve had about 50 people RSVP for the screening on August 13,” she said.
“So we’ve still got space available.”
If you’d like to attend, you need to RSVP to Ms Linquist on 0490 531 784 before August 5.
Tickets are then purchased at the door.
