Federal Member for Farrer Sussan Ley announced $32 million in funding for Farrer if the Coalition is successful at next month’s election.
The funding will boost infrastructure budgets for all local governments in the electorate, including Murray River Council.
If the Coalition is elected next month, Murray River Council could receive $4,074,150.
According to Ms Ley each council will receive more than $1 million each to help deliver much-needed projects.
“Today, I can announce a return of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program if we’re elected next month,” she said.
“This will see more than a million dollars sent to each Farrer LGA, allowing them to prioritise and deliver critical localised infrastructure and road upgrades specific to what our communities need right now.”
The funding will be split into two dedicated funding streams.
The first stream will focus on resilience and community infrastructure to help strengthen communities against natural disasters and build essential infrastructure.
The second stream will target roads, helping regional councils to fix potholes, maintain and improve local roads.
