The Shepparton school and the school council organised a donation drive for clothing for those who had lost everything in the floods.
Donations of second-hand men’s, women’s and children’s clothes, as well as linen, books, and shoes arrived to be given to anyone who needed them.
The school opened its gymnasium to anyone from the wider community to come and collect anything they needed on Saturday.
By Saturday night, the adult clothing had been taken to the evacuation centre at the McIntosh Centre.
From Monday, the other items will be available at Mooroopna Park Primary School in Mooroopna, as Guthrie Street will need to use the gymnasium for students.
School business manager Jo Pickles thanked not only the school community, but the wider community for their donations.
“The response has been amazing,” she said.
“We were really surprised at how fabulous the community was.
“People came straight away and dropped things off.
“We’re blessed we live in such a community where people will help out.”
