Two male and two female students will lead the student cohort throughout the next year, and each was chosen for their positive contributions to school life and their desire to be good examples to their peers.
Amelia Packer – school captain
New school captain Amelia Packer was keen to take on her new leadership role because she wanted to grow and learn as a leader.
Being a leader is something Amelia has strived for, and she couldn’t picture herself not applying for the role.
Amelia hopes her role will allow her to lead by example, and she aims to facilitate more opportunities for her fellow students to grow, alongside creating a happy and inclusive school environment for all.
Madison McDiarmid – school captain
Being a role model and the desire to finish her schooling years on a high note were the main driving forces behind Madison McDiarmid’s willingness to become school captain in 2024.
Madison looks forward to working with the other school captains to represent the school and inspire the younger students.
She hopes her time as captain next year will also be one of personal growth as she develops her leadership skills and becomes more immersed in school and community events.
Thomas Corso – captain of community service
A life-long CAGS student, Thomas Corso is most excited about making new connections within the community as captain of community service.
Thomas has described himself as an active leader who listens to fellow students before helping enact positive change.
Thomas hopes to use his new position to help facilitate positive relationships between staff and students and bring new ideas to the school from events that he participates in.
Nathan Gossayn – captain of Anglican identity
The desire to see Anglican culture, history and identity celebrated was the reason Nathan Gossayn applied for the role of captain of Anglican identity.
Nathan feels his approachable nature will benefit him in his new leadership role, and he has stated that one of his aims is to push for more interaction between senior and junior students.
