Until now, the Shepparton branch has been covering the Cobram area through delivery services.
Burson Auto Parts acting regional manager Jared Welch said the expansion was an opportunity to provide the best service to its Cobram customers.
“We saw it as an opportunity not only to grow the business but to give the Burson experience to the town of Cobram,” he said.
“This is something we've been working on for more than 12 months now and it's all coming together.
“As a company we're looking to expand our national footprint, our store numbers have grown and grown.”
The store will service towns in the area including Yarrawonga, Finley, Tocumwal, Berrigan, Strathmerton and Katunga.
Building of the show room and offices will now start for the "oversized store".
“We have the room to put a lot of stock in there,” Mr Welch said.
“The façade fit what we were looking for and hopefully we can show the Moira Shire that we're a big business here to stay, looking to support locals.”
Mr Welch has been working for Burson Auto Parts for about 17 years.
“It's a corporate company with a family feel.”
Burson Automotive started in 1971 and now employs 1500 team members across Australia.
The new store will employ about four staff members and is expected to open on Tuesday, June 1, at 55-57 Broadway S,t Cobram.
