Funded under the Roads to Recovery program, Berrigan Shire Council will reconstruct Barooga Cobram Rd between Peoples Bridge and Bullanginya Bridge.
The project will rehabilitate the road carriage way and bridge approaches, along with new asphalt and repainted line marking.
Work started last week and will be completed in two stages.
Stage one is the Bullanginya Bridge approach works, where new base material and asphalt will be laid.
Stage two is the pavement treatment between Peoples Bridge and Bullanginya Bridge.
New line marking and delineators will also be applied along length of the works.
Council anticipates the work will be completed by the end of May, weather permitting.
“One lane will remain open for traffic at all times during the works, however traffic control will be in place and road users should expect delays,” council said.
“Oversize vehicles will be required to follow detour signage that will guide them across the Murray River via Tocumwal.
“Works are scheduled to occur during business hours on weekdays.”
