The event was preceded by a whole school breakfast, to ensure they had plenty of energy.
The younger students were restricted to school, where they practised recognising road signs and responding to them.
It was the Year 4 to 6 youngsters who enjoyed the company of their classmates and teachers for a ride around town, following all the road signs.
A visit to the fish at the southern entrance to town was one of the things on the program.

Mathoura Bowling Club was certainly the place to be on Friday.
In addition to 80 bowlers in town for the Edinburgh Shield, there was a large number of ladies dressed in red – the Red Ladies – a group which also enjoyed the club’s hospitality and a get together.
I understand the visitors also visited popular places in and around town during their visit.
When it came to bowls, Traralgon took the honours.
Bairnsdale teams claimed second and third, and fourth was a combination of Portsea and Sorrento players.

I had a very pleasant surprise on the highway last week, in connection to signage relating to large vehicles.
You will no doubt be aware of my views on support vehicles bearing a sign ‘large vehicle ahead’ when it was actually behind.
You can imagine my surprise and delight when there was a support vehicle travelling at the rear of the large piece of equipment bearing the ‘Large vehicle ahead’ instead of in front which I have always thought ridiculous.
I was later to learn that there was another signed vehicle (signage unknown) at the front of the huge machine, and the driver would wave on those behind when the path was clear.
And it was actually near the machine instead of some I’ve seen which are a huge distance ahead.
It actually made my day – although that often doesn’t take a lot.

Easter is just around the corner and if you are looking for some Easter treats, in addition to the Easter Fair, Mathoura Public School will be a place to go today.
There will be an Easter Cake Stall to celebrate the end of term.
