For the two years to September 2026, councillors Julia McKean and Renee Paine will hold the positions of mayor and deputy mayor, respectively.
The positions were determined by uncontested vote at council’s September Extraordinary Council Meeting, held at the council office today.
Cr McKean said she was looking forward to serving Berrigan Shire as mayor.
“Thank you to my fellow councillors for their continued support,” she said.
Council said the election of the two leaders marked an exciting period, as it sought to work collaboratively to address community needs and further progress local initiatives.
