Berrigan Shire celebrated local businesses at an award ceremony at the Finley Returned Soldiers Club on Wednesday, April 19.
Berrigan Mayor Matthew Hannan said the night was a great opportunity to celebrate after a tough few years.
“Our business awards was an opportunity for businesses to showcase how they thrived in the recent conditions ... Berrigan Shire businesses have had to become more resilient and innovative in how they approach the challenges out of their control,” Cr Hannan said.
The main categories and winners were:
• What’s New Berrigan Shire – Main Street won by The Fifth Daughter Café;
• What’s New Berrigan Shire – General Business won by Tocumwal Aviation Museum and The Drome Café;
• Young Entrepreneur of the Year winner: Matthew Gorman of 2712 Fitness; and
• Business Manager of the Year won by Eliza Baldwin of Baldwins Buses.
Community votes saw Berrigan Bakehouse win the People’s Choice Award for excellence in customer service with Tocumwal Pharmacy coming second.
Legacy Packing/AC Foods won the award for excellence in cross-border collaboration.
