Susan Benedyka will join Graeme Emonson on council’s panel of administrators.
Ms Benedyka comes to the role with extensive experience on boards and advisory panels, including the North East Integrated Water Management Forum, the Junction Place Community Reference Group, La Trobe University, Hume Regional Development Australia and Albury Wodonga Health.
Council Chair Administrator Dr Emonson said he was looking forward to working with Ms Benedyka to keep building on the extensive work of the panel of administrators to strengthen council’s community engagement, enable strong governance and deliver positive outcomes for the shire’s communities.
“Ms Benedyka has a wealth of experience across a range of industries, including local government and a deep understanding of the issues affecting northern Victorian residents, particularly around those issues that border communities like ours face,” Dr Emonson said.
“Moira Shire will greatly benefit from Susan’s experience in community-centred decision-making, and her skills in leadership development, community and stakeholder engagement and strategic planning.”
Ms Benedyka’s passions include advocating for rural and regional communities, with a focus on leadership, community building and engagement.
Former council administrator Suzanna Sheed stepped down from the panel in February.

As part of her role on the panel, Ms Benedyka will assist council in carrying out an electoral representation review in 2026.
The review will go towards preparing council for local elections in 2028, and is the only remaining recommendation from the Commission of Inquiry into Moira Shire Council.
