Benalla P-12 College, Faithfull St Campus held an event to officially unveil Indigenous art that now hangs proudly on school walls.

Executive principal Kylie Cotter said North East Support and Action for Youth approached the school.
“They said they had a local Indigenous artist that could engage with some of our students,” Ms Cotter said.
“We thought it was a really amazing opportunity for students because some of them are really great artists, being able to channel that and also learn a bit more about their heritage and culture as well.”
Ms Cotter said 10 students, in years 7 to 10, worked with the artist, Tamara Murray.

“The majority were Indigenous, but we also had some of their friends involved.
“I think it looks beautiful, it’s really stunning.
“I love the story behind all the images, and it’s been beautiful hearing students explain what they mean to them.”
Ms Cotter said, on top of the educational benefits, the art had brightened the space.
“It is so important to have an organisation like NESAY engaging with students,” she said.
