Benalla was effectively cut in half due to flooding overnight on Wednesday, October 4.
With the ‘stocky’closed and the Benalla Monash bridge only open eastbound the quickest way to get back to the west was a trip down the Hume Fwy.
The Benalla-Monash bridge was reopened just before midday, much to the delight of those needing to cross.
With low lying parts of Benalla going underwater local residents could not be blamed for worrying we would see a repeat of last years flooding.
The Ensign’s Simon Ruppert took these photos of the flooding.
