In an undeniably beautiful setting on the banks of the Murray River, eight adults and two teenagers were baptised by Ignite Life Church of Cobram on November 26.
Each participant was baptised separately in a moving and emotional ceremony, which took place in front of about 80 members of the Ignite Life congregation and their families.
Ignite Life Church pastors Greg and Carolyn Duns are also ministers for services attended by people from the Solomon Islands, who formed a choir to sing a beautiful medley of their most loved hymns.
Currently working in the Cobram district, the Solomon Islanders have brought much joy to the church and the broader community with their Christian beliefs and gentle presence.
“There had been interest shown by several people to become baptised and the day turned out to be absolutely amazing. It was a wonderful experience for everyone connected to our church,” Pastor Greg Duns said.
“Ignite Life is a growing, friendly church that encourages people to come as they are.
“We have a church vision to connect with, care for and invest in, and love our people, allowing God to transform hearts and restore lives.”
After the formalities were completed, there was happiness radiating from people’s faces.
They shared their food, enjoyed the music and possessed a warm feeling of fellowship within their church community.
