The youngsters were cheered on the field by the victorious Rams seniors and their unlucky opponents who formed a guard of honour.
The initiative aimed to help young players get a feel for the big ground and the crowd support that will become common place later on in junior footy and beyond.
The game wasn’t scored and did not garner premiership points for either side, instead, gave the kids a chance to get used to the ground on what could be their home club in the coming years.
All kids around the ground were invited to a hot dog and can of drink at the canteen after the games proceedings, irrespective of playing or not, courtesy of Deniliquin Toyota.

Last week of school holidays
It’s back to school this week in Victoria, but there’s still a whole week of holiday fun ahead for NSW students.
High school and primary school aged children will return to school next week for the beginning of Term 3.
Kids from in and around Deni always have a number of events to get involved with over the holidays.
These holidays kids are getting stuck into their local sport commitments, using the newly built skate park (see page 5) and taking up the many opportunities to catch up with friends and family.
The Edward River Library has a number of events for the last few days of the holidays.
Today is sand art, and virtual reality activity and a chess competition will be held Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
Edward River Library is located in Napier St, Deniliquin.
Rams social events continue
The music was pumping at the Rams Oval on Friday night when the Deniliquin Rams Football Netball Club held its annual junior disco.
The club then hosted footy and netball on Saturday, with Friday’s wet weather and Saturday morning’s fog causing a few early issues.
The social events continue this weekend with the annual Rams Ladies Day, also at Hardinge Street Oval.
The festivities kick off about 2pm, while the senior footballers and Moama go head-to-head on the oval.
Tickets are $40 per person, which covers the cost of one complimentary drink on arrival and finger food throughout.
Entertainment from local duo Shane & Ellie will also be included, from 6pm to 9pm.
There will be cocktails and other drinks at bar prices, as well as raffles and prize draws to be won.
The club has partnered with Can Assist Deniliquin again this year, with a portion of profits donated to help them support local with cancer.
Unlucky flight
One Talkback correspondent was distracted by something hanging from a powerline in Cressy St on her commute to work yesterday.
She originally thought it might be a mangled piece of clothing that might have gone astray during the slightly stronger than normal winds on Sunday.
On closer inspection, it was quite a large bat hanging by just one foot.
So it seems it’s not just those pesky possums who become victim to our vital infrastructure.
