The shelter, which completes the works at the precinct, has been erected in time for summer barbecues.
The project involved the installation of a 14 m by 8 m shelter, two barbecues, including electrical and water connections, as well as four picnic benches and concrete seating pads.
Berrigan Shire Council Mayor Matt Hannan said now that the NSW border had reopened, the park would get a lot more use.
“Having some extra shade at the park and a barbecue area will make it a much more inviting place than it already is,” he said.
“It's always been a successful park up to date and we've had to complete the developments in stages as funding presented itself.
“Now it's a lot more family-friendly and I encouraged locals and visitors to come have a look at the park."
The project was funded by Drought Communities NSW and Berrigan Shire Council.
