The asymptomatic testing followed a direction from the Department of Health and Human Services after a Cobram resident, who reported no symptoms of COVID-19, tested positive to the virus.
Residents who took part in the testing blitz are receiving their results this week.
There are no active cases of COVID-19 in Moira Shire.
NCN Health chief executive Jacque Phillips said the health service was happy with the response to the asymptomatic testing, but encouraged others who do have symptoms to come forward.
“There is evidence from the Department of Health and Human Services that suggests younger people, for example, late teens to late 20s, are contracting COVID-19 and reporting very mild symptoms,” she said.
Ms Phillips said this concerning trend may have an impact on community transmission.
“While the Moira Shire currently has no active cases, it is still important we remain vigilant, follow the public health advice and get tested, even if your symptoms are very mild,” she said.
While free COVID-19 swab testing is available, Ms Phillips said the numbers attending the weekday symptomatic clinic have declined in recent weeks, despite the positive Cobram case.
“We are seeing around 10 to 15 people a day in Cobram, who have symptoms of COVID-19 getting a swab test. Ideally, we would like to see 20 people or more per day,” she said.
Testing is available to people who are showing symptoms, however mild, of COVID-19 including; fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of sense of taste or smell or fatigue or tiredness for no identified reason.
The Cobram Community Testing Clinic is open Monday to Friday, from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. Call 5871 0777 and select option 6 to make an appointment.
