But before the outfits clash heads at Deakin Reserve on Saturday, the sports desk has looked back at the first encounter between the two this season in round three.
It was an interesting contest at the Cattery, a game that was free-flowing and dominated by the home side.
Thanks to GVL Data, we are able to see just how impressive Mooroopna was on that Sunday against the Demons.
Mooroopna racked up an eye-watering 441 disposals for the match, which was more than 104 more than United.
That is the second highest disposal count for a game this season, behind Euroa’s 443 against Tatura in round 11.
Mooroopna also enjoyed plenty of open space in the 58-point win.
The Cats racked up 300 uncontested possessions, compared to United’s 196.
Interestingly, Mooroopna notched up one of its highest marks tallies.
With a season average of 82.7, Mooroopna collected more than double its average in the win and finished with 141 marks.
Despite all of Mooroopna’s control on the contest, Shepparton United still managed to rival the Cats around stoppages.
United racked up 38 clearances and a whopping 82 tackles.
The Demons also managed 41 inside-50 deliveries, compared to Mooroopna’s 69, however Paul Serra’s outfit struggled to convert their chances and scored 29 per cent from inside-50 entries.
Mooroopna ruckman Liam Betson had a sublime outing with 25 disposals, 39 hit-outs and five clearances.
Cats on-baller Jack Hunt tallied up 38 disposals, seven clearances and seven inside-50s, while defender Lachie Devine had 16 marks, nine intercept marks and 28 disposals.
United youngster Oscar Ryan tallied up 10 bruising tackles and 21 disposals in the loss.
