The awards are sponsored by local organisations and individuals who share a passion for the development of local maths and science students. Prizes include gift cards to the value of $300.
The winners of the awards have participated in numerous school competitions in maths and science, and have attended science camps, won numerous school, state and national awards and have been active leaders of their respective schools in other disciplines.
The winners for 2022 are:
Candence Pang, from Cobram Anglican Grammar School, won the Hannam Award (best female student) sponsored by Faye Hannam and Graeme Pollard. Candence is keen to study medicine or bioengineering.
Cody Lincoln, also from Cobram Anglican Grammar School, won the Infrastructure Solutions award sponsored by Trevor Woodcock. Cody is aiming for a career in electronic and computer systems engineering.
Candence and Cody have been active participants in the school’s computer science club and are incredibly proficient in coding, and were members of the CyberTaipan team that made it to the national finals.
