The council encourages all residents to join the project.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Laura Binks said Strathbogie was the fourth township to participate in the project with Euroa and Avenel’s plans under way and the Violet Town LEAP already completed.
“There has been fantastic participation from these communities, and we encourage Strathbogie residents to get involved in the development of their LEAP,” she said.
“The project seeks to create greater community awareness of the risks faced and promote greater community resilience in being able to plan, respond and recovery from emergency events.”
The council expects the project to run for four to six months, starting in January or February next year.
Participating communities for the project include Avenel, Euroa, Nagambie, Strathbogie, and Violet Town.
The LEAP project is a collaboration between the council and various emergency agencies in the community.
