Berrigan Shire worked with Finley High School on the project.
The program lays the foundations for future projects across the Berrigan Shire that will go towards improving historical archives and local museums.
Berrigan Shire Council Mayor Julia Cornwell McKean said the project was a fantastic step towards preserving the shire’s local history.
“By digitising the Finley Football Club’s historic photographs and other memorabilia, we are ensuring future generations can access and appreciate our community’s heritage,” she said.
Echoing this sentiment, Finley High School principal Jeff Ward said his students gained valuable skills through the project, learning about art, local history and technology.
“We are proud to be part of an initiative that not only educates but enriches our community,” Mr Ward said.
Looking to the future, council anticipates the project will include other local community histories, with the aim to foster deeper connections to the region’s history and culture.
Council will continue to work with Finley High School to ensure the continuation of this project.
