Country Education Foundation of Edward River Region (CEFERR) is encouraging community members to join their ranks, and help support local educational pursuits.
Anyone interested is invited to attend the group’s AGM on Wednesday, December 4, from 5pm at the Deniliquin RSL Club.
The Country Education Foundation of Edward River Region was established to provide much needed financial assistance and support to local youth to help them achieve their post high school education, training and vocation aspirations.
It recognises that the cost of rural students pursuing their post high school goals is often much greater than those of their metropolitan counterparts and that sometimes these costs can be prohibitive.”
Applications for 2025 scholarships have already closed, and Mrs Chartres said they saw “so many enthusiastic young people submitting applications”.
“Our 2025 scholarship interviews have been completed and the talent, commitment and passion identified during the interview process is fulfilling for those on the interview panel.
“As a committee member and an interviewer on many panels, there is nothing more refreshing and rewarding than to witness the passion and enthusiasm in the students as they tell us their future plans, and their understanding of how fortunate this region is to have an organisation that supports them to follow their post school ambitions.”
Fellow committee member Paul Fellows said being part of the CEFERR is a rewarding experience.
“The CEFERR is a wonderful opportunity to work collaboratively with other like-minded individuals to provide financial support to apprentices and tertiary students,” he said.
